Bed and Breakfast L'histoire de l'Eclair is located in a beautiful historic house in the beating heart of the city. The house was recently renovated and equipped with all contemporary comforts.
The house's sleek frame facade dates back to 1820, but the core of the trading house dates to the early Middle Ages. A sculpted gable stone was incorporated into the facade of the owner's adjoining residence 'Coudenbrouc House'. One shows two ladies fighting over a pair of trousers. The devil's trousers according to an old urban legend.
The street in which the house is located, Cordoeaniersstraat, refers to the processors of Corduan goatskin leather located there, a type of leather that was used as an ornament for the walls of living spaces at the time. It is one of the oldest quarters of Bruges, which has been inhabited since the Middle Ages. You will stay in the middle of the historic centre surrounded by many monuments, museums and city canals. Despite the central location of B&B L'histoire de l'éclair, the house is located in a quiet street with limited through traffic.
Unfortunately, the house is not wheelchair accessible, the rooms of the B&B are located in the attic under the roof truss.
Smoking is not allowed inside the building.
Pets are welcome, although by arrangement.
